UK Visas and Immigration published a form on 19 May 2026 that sponsors must submit at the same time as a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) allocation request, so caseworkers have the details they need.
Key facts
- Who: Sponsors making a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) allocation request, for either an annual allocation (follow on) or an additional allocation (in year)
- From: 19 May 2026
- Source: CAS allocation further information request form
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) published the CAS allocation further information request form on 19 May 2026. The form collects the further information a caseworker needs to decide a CAS allocation request.
The source says the form must be submitted at the same time as the CAS allocation request. It says this lets the caseworker decide within the priority service timeframe and helps avoid delays or requests for additional information during processing.
The form opens with the sponsor name, sponsor licence number and account manager. Its sections are:
- Allocation request details: the request type (annual allocation (follow on) or additional allocation (in year)), the renewal date (or "N/A" for an in-year request), the requested CAS amount, and whether the request would contravene paragraph 10.1 or 10.2 of Document 2: Sponsorship Duties.
- Justification: for an in-year request, the sponsor must explain why the requirements were not known when it submitted its follow on request.
- Supplementary information: questions on recruitment markets, strategy, agents, courses and intakes, the forecast number of CAS for each intake, and the international student body compared with the UK student body. Sponsors must also confirm the actions taken to reduce the 5 main reasons for refusal, with reference to the Study sector briefs.
- Potential CAS Breakdown: a forecast of CAS usage by cohort: Doctoral/Research, Partnership, Study Abroad and Exchange, School of Medicine, Postgraduate Degree, Undergraduate Degree, Foundation Year/Foundation Programme, Pre-Sessional English, Resitting/Repeating students and Others, with a total.
Sponsors requesting a significant increase on previous years' allocations must say how enrolment and engagement can still be monitored, including attendance and teaching delivery. They must also confirm the institution has capacity for the additional students, including teaching facilities and accommodation.
A further section is for Higher Education Provider (HEP) sponsors with a track record of compliance only. It asks whether 21%–40% of any course content, at degree level or above, will be delivered remotely. It also asks for lists of courses delivered over 21% remotely, previously agreed remote delivery courses still running, and those that have concluded.
What this means for applicants
Sponsors making a CAS allocation request must complete this form and submit it with the request, not afterwards. The source says that doing so lets the caseworker decide within the priority service timeframe and helps avoid delays or requests for additional information. The source does not set out any other consequence of omitting the form.
