The Home Office has extended the closing date for its call for evidence on how a new asylum Independent Appeals Body should be designed; responses can now be submitted until 6 May 2026.
The Home Office is calling for evidence on the creation of a new Independent Appeals Body as part of reform of the asylum system. The Home Secretary has made a commitment to set up the body.
The call for evidence seeks views, evidence and practical insights into how the body should be designed. The stated aim is that it operates effectively and efficiently and ensures fair access to justice for all users.
The Home Office says responses will help inform the legislation establishing the new body. They will also support decisions on its governance, processes and operational framework.
The closing date for responses is now 6 May 2026.
